Description

By 2030, the railway aims to comprehensively rehabilitate around 40 busy lines, including seven in Bavaria. The aim is to completely renew busy and refurbished routes within the shortest possible period of time. The general refurbishment of the line 5830 Obertraubling-Passau begins on June 2026. By general refurbishment we mean a bundled renewal of all trades over several months. The route forms an important part of the European Rhine-Danube transport axis. Many freight trains between Central Europe and South-Eastern Europe, long-distance services between Germany and Austria as well as various local transport lines operate on the route. As a result of this heavy use, there is a great need for refurbishment. In the market dialogue, we look at the Passau – Plattling section (building lot 1), where extensive track and overhead line renovations, the construction of two interlockings, the modernisation of two stations and underground upgrades take place over a 2km section. In addition, the new construction of two transfer points and switch connections is planned. The concept of lot formation for construction supervision services has been re-established and will be explained in the market dialogue.
