UK-Ruislip: mail delivery services
Mail delivery services. The Authority (British Forces Post Office (BFPO)) is considering placing a 2 (two) year contract(s), with an option for 2 (two) further years, for the secure and protected Conveyance of Her Majesty’s (HM) Forces Mail to static locations worldwide, via airmail, surface airlift and road, using contractually agreed schedules as required. The level of business cannot be guaranteed, as the nature of HM Forces Mail is such that volumes fluctuate and BFPOs may be opened and closed at short notice. It is usual for a significant seasonal increase to take effect between October and January. This conveyance may, at times, be augmented by BFPO use of RAF aircraft and / or any suitable pre-existing MoD contract(s) where there is overlap that meets the needs of BFPO. In addition, there are a number of exercises, which occur at irregular periods for varying durations of time, that are dictated by the training requirements of the armed forces. These may be included in despatches to various existing static locations which may cause an increase in mail to that location during the conduct of the exercise. The ITT shall detail the locations, frequencies required etc. Lastly, there is also a possible requirement for “Ad Hoc” Mail Conveyances from UK to locations worldwide, via the same means as above, which are typically very short notice and unpredictable in nature.
