Provision of chemical analysis of euro banknotes and reporting on results
With an upcoming procurement procedure below the threshold under Article 35 of the ECB's Procurement Decision, the ECB intends to pre-select at least five suppliers that will be invited to submit a proposal for the provision of chemical analysis of euro banknotes and reporting on results. The ECB envisages to award a minimum of two framework agreements with laboratories. Any laboratory entering the ECB list of eligible laboratories will have to first fulfil all the following formal requirements: 1. hold an ISO 17025 certification; 2. have the proven availability to analyse paper-based materials, applying specific analyses methods defined by the SOPs; and 3. be located in a Member State or in a Member State of the European Free Trade Association. Suppliers from other countries may be admitted participating at the ECB’s sole discretion. This prior information notice is published to announce the ECB's intention to launch a procedure in the second quarter of 2025. No other documents are available at this stage. The information published in this prior information notice is therefore not binding.
