Description

With this pre-notification, Uppsala Municipality wants to draw the market's attention to an upcoming procurement of pharmaceutical vending machines. Brief information about background and needs: A medicine dispenser is a medical device used to remind the user that it is time to take medication. When the machine with sound and light reminds the patient/user, he presses a button on the machine and then dispenses a sachet of tablets. This thus replaces the manual handling of disclosure by care staff during an operation visit. A procurement and implementation of digital drug vending machines within Uppsala municipality's health and social care operations aims to give patients / users increased independence and security, to increase patient safety regarding drug management and to optimize human resources. The overall goal of the change is to achieve a more independent, safe, secure and effective pharmaceutical management with the watchwords "The right medicine to the right individual at the right time". Pharmaceutical vending machines will be used primarily by elderly people in ordinary housing, but their use is also partly planned in certain LSS operations and in special housing for the elderly. It is estimated that the utilization rate will be between 15-30% in relation to the total number of patients/users.
