Description

In order to meet the Government’s resource plan, which requires 50 % of household waste to be collected for recycling by 2022, a new collection scheme has been put in place in the municipality of Vesthimmerland, which will enter into force at the end of the year 2015/2016.
As a result of this collection scheme, all households in the municipality of Vesthimmerland will be provided with 3 new waste containers, instead of the 2 each household has today. One is intended for municipal waste and the other 2 for paper, cardboard, glass, metal and hard plastics. In addition, all households are provided with an environmental box for the collection of hazardous waste, including chemical canisters, electronic scrap, low energy bulbs, batteries and aerosol dispensers.
In summer areas, the current municipal solution is maintained at each household, but it will be possible in future to deliver paper, cardboard, glass, metal and hard plastic in centrally located waste islands consisting of partially buried waste containers. In addition, the islands will also be able to deliver extra municipal waste. The location of the partly buried waste containers is set out in Annex 7 to the tender documentation.
