Los contadores provistos de un modem NBIoT tienen que garantizar una vida útil de 12 años, durante los cuales deben proporcionar las medidas de consumo por medio de un servicio de telelectura consistente en una red de comunicaciones NBIoT con cobertura suficiente en el área de servicio, gestionada por Aguas de Córdoba, y un middleware de operación y gestión de los dispositivos que permita interaccionar con cada uno de los dispositivos de telelectura a lo largo de su vida útil.
