NO-Trondheim: hire of fixed-wing aircraft with crew
The Geological Survey of Norway (NGU) will acquire an aeromagnetic survey to the Norway Basin in the Norwegian Sea (see enclosed map). The survey consists of a total of 17.600 line-km with a line spacing of 6 km (NW-SE trending) and 20 km between the tie-lines (NE-SW trending). Ferrying from base at Icelandic Airport of Nordfjordur, with Seydisfjordur, Fraskrudsfjordur, Breiddaslvik, Djupivogur, Vopnafjordur and/or Bakkafjordur as optional airports. The flight altitude is 300 m and the magnetic sensor is towed 70 m below the aeroplane. The survey consists of approximately 150 hours flying (including ferrying), and NGU is inviting competent and qualified firms for bids on hiring a plane with 2 pilots to carry out the survey.
In the optional offer for aircraft and crew, NGU will supply the necessary measuring instruments, operator and 'real time' DGPS navigation equipment. NGU’s towed aeromagnetic system consists of a winch, placed inside the back of the airplane and mounted on a ‘playwood-plate’. The support-bay for the towed sensor is installed outside and connected to the airplane with four screws. Another hole is necessary to feed the wire from the winch through. The system has so far got certification in Norway and Denmark for a PA 31 Chieftain. Technical drawings and mounting instructions will be sent on request.
The instrumentation has previously been installed in Twin Otters and Piper Chieftains. Similar or equal two-engine aeroplane is required. The plane must have an endurance of minimum 7 hours with a speed of 225 km/h. The plane must be equipped with a radar altimeter. If there is a need for small modifications in the aeroplane before commencement of the flying, the operator has to cover the costs for the modifications that also have to be approved by the aviation authorities in Norway and Iceland.
Bidders are encouraged to present optional bids (1) procurement of crew and aircraft or (2) procurement of crew and aircraft equipped with instruments for aeromagnetic data acquisition WITHOUT data processing services or (3) procurement crew and aircraft equipped with instruments for aeromagnetic data acquisition WITH data processing services.
Bidders presenting optional bids for data collection and processing should indicate the type of instruments offered their performances, the methodology and quality control.
The bid quotations must be given in Norwegian kroner (NOK).
