Restricted, anonymous competition following the 2008 RPW with a pre-candidate procedure for the selection of 20-25 participants. The aim of the competition is to select an architect and to obtain a suitable preliminary design for further processing.

The so-called German House on the Ecke Stresemannstraße/Anhalterstraße, built around 1930 in Berlin and rebuilt in 1960 after war destruction, is to be rehabilitated and converted to accommodate a mix of uses from exhibitions and office days. The exhibition, documentation and information centre of the Foundation for Refugees, Displacement and Reconciliation is expected to have a useful floor area of approximately 3 300 m² on the ground floor up to 2. Upper floor.
The permanent exhibition focuses on depicting forced displacement and forced migration in the 20th century. Rooms for temporary exhibitions, events and a documentation centre are also foreseen.

At the same time, the much-needed basic repair of the building will be carried out.
The cost ceiling for the KG 300-500 is around EUR 25000000.
As part of the implementation competition, concepts must be developed for the design and functionally high-quality accommodation of the exhibition of the ‘Foundation Refugee, Displacement, Reconciliation’ and for a standard floor of office use within the German House.
