Description

The project concerns the design of the new building of the teaching building as a school for non-commissioned officers (Schooff, current building number B001) at Fort Harssens in Den Helder (object number 09D04) which is used for various purposes including teaching facilities and painting and workshop facilities (both for Defence Vaarschool and for the Product Group Port Facilities). The sailing courses of the Defence Vaarschool (DVS, part of NLBEOPS) are provided from the Schooff building. In addition, building Schooff houses the Kabelgat, part of the product group Port facilities within MAROST. The building is at the end of its technical life and faces high maintenance costs. Because it is no longer justified to use the building in the short term because of its technical/constructive status, the housing of the Defence Boat School and the Cable Hole is at risk. As a result, sailing courses can no longer be provided and that has an impact on the training and employability of the sailing units of Defence. Based on the current (technical) condition of the building, the RVB advised CZSK to commission replacement new construction with a BVO of approximately 800m2.
