Liek sa používa na liečbu pacientov s ochorením MPS I (mukopolysacharidóza I). Podáva sa na liečenie neneurologických prejavov tohto ochorenia. Liek je syntetický enzým nazývaný laronidáza. Dokáže nahradiť prírodný enzým, ktorého je pri MPS I nedostatok.
