Description

Bielefeld University, Main University Building, 3. The University of Bielefeld was built in 1972 - 1976 and presents itself as a 410m long and 230m wide building structure with up to 11 full floors from level 0 (hall level) and two further basements. The total complex comprises approximately 314,000 m2 of GFA and is classified as a high-rise building according to LBO NRW. All components are at the end of their regular service life. Pollutant findings, functional and structural defects as well as the not up-to-date energy-efficient building standard require a comprehensive modernization of the main university building (UHG for short). The current planning provides for the refurbishment and modernisation of the UHG in six construction phases (BA for short). The project 3. BA is to be implemented on the basis of a multi-party contract model (MPV) with integrated project management (IPA). The multi-party contract is aimed at ensuring that the contractual partners pursue the success of the project as a common goal on the basis of common project principles and in close partnership. In addition to the client, seven contractors will be involved in the multi-party contract as it currently stands.
