Description

The University Hospital Magdeburg A.ö.R. (hereinafter also abbreviated as ‘AG’ or ‘UKMD’) is predominantly equipped with networked patient monitoring technology of the type ‘IntelliVue’ of Philips (hereinafter referred to as ‘Philips’). Six intensive care units, three IMC stations, the ZNA, dialysis, the children's clinic, the KAIT and various normal stations already have the named patient monitoring technology. In addition, a database server was installed in the hospital by Philips, which connects the central units of the existing Philips monitoring systems. To this end, the existing Philips ‘IntelliVue X2’ patient monitors will be partially renewed and the technologically advanced ‘IntelliVue X3’ devices will be procured as a result of the fact that the ‘IntelliVue X2’ devices currently in use will partially reach their ‘end of service life’ status by the end of 2025. The IntelliVue X2 monitors currently in operation also have high maintenance costs due to their ten-year service life. The market observation carried out by the UKMD and the comparison made in this context with other theoretically eligible companies has shown that only Philips’ ‘IntelliVue X3’ product fully complies with the requirements of the UKMD. The entire patient monitoring infrastructure of the UKMD is almost entirely designed for Philips components. This currently guarantees seamless compatibility between the devices, maximizing the functionality of the Philips system. Since the monitoring system is physically separate and set up as a support network, only Philips provides the necessary expertise to support and further develop this structure. Patient monitoring data is stored on dedicated Philips servers that use custom applications and databases. The integration of devices or information centres from other manufacturers is not technically possible, as the systems are based on proprietary interfaces and transmission protocols that only Philips fully masters. This ensures the continuous and secure storage and use of patient data through the low-interface infrastructure. Only Philips monitors can communicate with Philips' existing headquarters. In addition, the necessary CE conformity exists only through these communication channels. Text automatically translated in your browsing language Automatically translated
