The new Civic Integration Act entered into force on 1 January 2022. The municipalities want to use the new system to increase the chances of asylum status holders to participate in society in a fast and fully-fledged way. Since 1 January 2022, all asylum status holders in Meierijstad have been offered a timely and appropriate integration programme combining language learning with participation, so that they can participate fully in society as quickly as possible. Social support for asylum status holders ensures that asylum status holders become self-reliant in several areas of life.
