Description

The Universum Bremen is a science center with an experiential character. Visitors can experience scientific phenomena with all their senses at numerous exhibits. The universe consists of the permanent exhibition building, the special exhibition building and the outdoor area, whereby the whale-shaped permanent exhibition building is an architectural landmark of Bremen. The Universum Bremen is to be extended by a third concise solitary (about 2,850 m2 GFA) east of the existing building, which can be connected to the existing building via a bridge. The new "Kosmoskop" extension will house, among other things, a foyer, offices and workshops (makerspaces/fablabs), storage and technical areas. The centerpiece of the extension will be a 250 m2 domed hall with a 360° projection surface. It should be borne in mind that the dome hall can be used as a venue, for example for company celebrations. The subject of this call for tenders is the planning services for the extension building (object planning buildings and outdoor facilities as well as specialist planning). The planning of the 360° projection surface is advertised separately. It is currently assumed that the new extension can be connected to the district heating or cooling network. The construction costs (KG 300-500) amount to approximately EUR 15.0 million gross (excluding costs for the 360° projection area) after an initial assumption of costs.
