Description

The Hospitals Hochfranken are basic and regular houses at the Münchberg (230 beds) and Naila (currently 130 beds). They are run as an independent municipal company in the district of Hof. In the disciplines of internal medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, gynaecology and HNO specialists, around 15500 patients are hospitalised each year and around 11000 outpatients are treated each year. The Naila clinic, for which the foundation stone laying took place in 1955, was rehabilitated between 1982 and 1992 after some 11 years of construction and expanded in essential areas. The refurbishment was carried out in accordance with the state of medicine at the time, as well as the state of the art at the time.
In the meantime, medical care needs in the region have changed considerably. The institution is therefore asked to adapt the structures and medical services to the challenges of current developments. Due to the age of construction, fundamental structural adjustments to the current economic and functional requirements are necessary. In addition, restoration measures due to the age of the building should in principle be addressed.
The Hospitals Hochfranken therefore intend to rehabilitate and expand their house in Naila. As a first step, the technical examination procedure was completed with the need for 153 beds. In the meantime,
a programme release by the funding authorities of a developed abstract space and function programme is also planned. The aim is to draw up relevant documents for inclusion in the Bavarian Annual Hospital Building Programme and submit them in due time. After successful planning and provision of investment funds, the necessary structural measures are implemented to rehabilitate the stock and eliminate the serious land deficits.
