Aufgrund eines prognostizierten erhöhten Zugverkehrsaufkommen hat das Projekt Neubau Abstellungen Hamburg das Ziel, die Abstellkapazitäten im DB Fernverkehr Werk Eidelstedt zu erweitern. Es werden in den Bereichen 12 Abstellgleise neu gebaut. Die Bauleistungen für die Errichtung der gesamten Oberleitungsanlage für die Abstellanlage in Eidelstedt erfolgen inklusive Fundamente, Maste, Fahrdraht und örtliche Erdungssteuerung für die Behandlungsgleise.
