Preliminary Market Consultation for rotor upgrade
Landsvirkjun, Iceland’s National Power Company, is the largest producer of electricity in the country, is inviting suppliers to participate in a preliminary market consultation (PMC) for rotor upgrade at Krafla Geothermal Power station. Krafla Geothermal Station is equipped with two 30 MW MHI geothermal steam turbine units, one commissioned in 1977 and the other in 1997. The next planned rotor swap is planned in Q2-Q3 of 2027 and Landsvirkjun is therefore conducting this preliminary market consultation to explore option for rotor upgrade. Landsvirkjun would like to discuss all possible options with potential bidders and therefore invites suppliers to participate in this PMC.
