VE03 Structural design
The wastewater treatment in the municipality of Hainburg is currently carried out by two wastewater treatment plants. The two existing plants were last upgraded in the early 2000s. After more than 20 years in operation, many existing machines and devices will reach the end of their useful life in the next few years. For this reason, the municipality of Hainburg commissioned a concept study to investigate different variants of future wastewater treatment. The concept study recommends the construction of a new central sewage treatment plant with a population equivalent of 28,000 (EW) at the Hainstadt site. The preferred variant includes anaerobic sludge stabilization. For the further procedure of the measure, the municipality of Hainburg plans to call for tenders for planning services. The planning services are divided into three awarding units and involve a gradual commissioning. The awarding units are divided into: • VE01: Construction technology, • VE02: EMSR technology/TA, • VE03: Structural design. The awarding unit discussed here is the VE03 structural planning for the new construction of the central sewage treatment plant. The aim of the measure is to ensure the stability and suitability for use of the structures throughout their lifespans. After completion of the measure, existing wastewater treatment plants in Klein-Krotzenburg and Hainstadt will be taken out of operation.
