The BGZ Gesellschaft für Zwischenlager mbH, hereinafter referred to as BGZ, operates an interim storage facility (transport container storage facility Ahaus) for the storage of nuclear fuels and other radioactive substances on the Ammeln 59 property, on the L570 between Ahaus and Schöppingen. The transport container warehouse Ahaus (hereinafter referred to as TBL-A) is currently being retrofitted for safety reasons.
