The district of Dithmarschen is planning the new building of the Center for Firefighting and Civil Protection (ZFB) as a project promoter in the municipality of Hemmingstedt. The planned area covers an area of about 4.70 ha, located directly on the federal road 5 on the A23. In the meander-shaped building complex, vehicle halls for civil protection, the handling of operations, including the crisis unit, the fire brigade technical center with workshops and test halls, social areas and technical areas, as well as training and administrative rooms are provided.
