Das Vorhabensgebiet befindet sich im Landkreis Stendal, Gemarkung Sandau und Havelberg. Die Deichrückverlegung beinhaltet ca. 2 800 m Deichneubau. Im Zuge der Deichrückverlegung ist der Altdeich zu schlitzen. Der zu betrachtende Altdeich weist eine Länge von ca. 3 325 m (Deich km 78+550 – 81+875) auf. Der Altdeich ist in mehreren Teilabschnitten zurückzubauen.
