Future Construction - Building tomorrow - Potential study on building materials of the future in the German construction industry
The research project will investigate the potential of new and established building materials for a climate-friendly and resource-saving construction industry. The focus is on biogenic raw materials such as miscanthus, hemp or mycelium as well as high-quality secondary materials such as recycled concrete, glass or metals. The aim is to systematically capture obstacles and opportunities of these material groups and to derive scenarios for their future application in building construction. In addition to ecological and economic aspects, normative framework conditions and competition for use should also be taken into account. Through future workshops as well as addressee-oriented transfer formats, the results are to be discussed with practical actors and processed, in particular, for politics and the construction industry.
