Procurement of 1 trained young dog for a hatchback search/patrol dog - Police
The Police need a trained young dog to be used as a combi search dog/patrol dog. Please note that the requirements for a combi search dog/patrol dog entail a requirement specification that differs from ordinary procurement of search dogs and patrol dogs within the procurement scheme. Aptitude tests will be conducted in week 49. The dog should be ready for delivery within week 51. Search dogs are trained to respond and mark different types of smell images in different environments. Within the search dog category, dogs are trained to search for, but not limited to, drugs, flammable liquids, explosives, blood, semen, currency, weapons, buried corpses and corpses. The dogs must be able to work in different types of environments such as indoors, outdoors, height, dark, moving surfaces and slippery surfaces. The search dog must withstand the mental stresses this can cause. Patrol dogs are trained in searching for people in different environments and searching for objects that smell like humans. Furthermore, patrol dogs are approved as a means of force and can be used in apprehending people in different types of environments. Within the patrol dog category, there are some dogs with additional expertise in the form of drug searches, gun searches, avalanche (winter training), USAR and criminal searches. Patrol dogs must be socially stable, have good desire to investigate., hunt and exchange and be environmentally strong. The breed used for combi search dogs/patrol dogs today is mainly based on the Malinois. The customer will require final internal approval and confirmation of funding before the contract is entered into.
