Supply of public properties in the municipality of Borchen by a renewable energy source
In April 2024, the municipality of Borchen was one of the first municipalities in NRW to publish a municipal heat planning (KWP). According to the results of the KWP, heating networks can be implemented in various areas of the municipality. The municipality is now striving to implement heating networks in the districts of Nordborchen and Dörenhagen. The application, planning, construction and operation of the heating networks are to be carried out by private investors on their own account. The municipality would like to support the construction of a heat network that is economically attractive for both customers and investors by having its municipal properties (schools, day care centres, municipal halls, etc.) located in the supply area connected to this heat network as anchor customer at the earliest possible time. The supply of heat for these properties is the subject of the procurement procedure.
