Description

It enters into a market consultation in preparation for the proposed EU call for tenders for the “Gladheidmond System” (hereinafter GMS). Rijkswaterstaat attaches great importance to the views of market participants. Therefore, this market consultation will involve the market at an early stage before the planned tender is launched.
The smooth-control system consists of 330 entry points, monitoring stations, along the Dutch (fast) roads that collect data from road surfaces and roadside sensors that are processed, enriched and presented. Ladder coordinators can use this system to check the current road condition in their coordination area and the road surface expectations and, in particular, take a decision on whether or not to grate on the basis of GMS. The use of GMS is only scattered where and when necessary.
