Description

The Commissioners of Public Works in Ireland invite Applications/Expressions of Interest from competent Mechanical Specialists who wish to be considered for inclusion on a panel from which Tenders may be invited for the development of the National Children Detention Facilities in Lusk. Co Dublin.
The proposed development, to provide secure accommodation for children detained by the Courts, will be completed in a single phase. The development will include six, ten bedroomed residential units, single story with attic service areas, in groups of three. One educational unit, single story with attic service areas, with an academic area and a practical area, linked to a recreational facility including sports hall, via teaching staff areas.
Ancillary facilities are accomodated in a two story building over lower ground floor. Visiting, and medical facilities are single story with attic service areas. Entry and staff facilities, are arranged on the lower ground and ground floor with the administration offices on the first floor. A separate single story admissions/discharge building and a separate perimeter building are provided. Catering facilities in the existing Trinity House building will be upgraded and extended to provide for a cook/chill system. The proposed development will total approximately 13,650 sq metres internal floor area. The existing Stores and Sports Hall building on site will be retained to provide for storage in relation to building maintenance.
Interested Specialists should note that the Contracting Authority may elect, at its discretion, to novate the Specialist to be employed. Some or all of the required Specialists may be novated - a decision will be made prior to issuing Tender documents.
