For the characterization of components for high-bitrate, very high-frequency transmission lines used in various projects (including: RadKom, INVENT, AI-NET, GreenICT) have been developed and manufactured at the IAF, and a measuring station is already in operation that can measure these circuits with real signals. High-bitrate signals with carrier frequencies of currently up to 300 GHz are transmitted over a short air measurement distance. The transmission bandwidth is currently around 40 GHz and is to be increased to 100 GHz in further development steps. The data source is an existing AWG (original price: 250 000,- €), which has the necessary technical specifications to generate any currently possible modulation formats and/or signals with a very high bit rate (> 50 Gbit/s).
