Shooting and closing of drilling pipes in Kouvervaara
The contract notice was suspended because it had been erroneously awarded as an EU tender, although it was intended to be awarded to the tendering basis of a national procurement. Re-published correct notification. Part 1 of the procurement. The purpose of the project is to acquire a ground pipe and rock hole fracture imaging service for 27 drilling pipes located in Kouvervaara, Kuusamo. Drilling pipes (50 mm diameter) have been drilled mainly in the 1980s, but there are also 4 newer drilling pipes with a diameter of 100 mm. The known depths of drilling holes range from 60 to 212 metres. Newer ones (4pcs) may be known deeper. The holes are described and the bedrock breakage is interpreted so that the drill pipes can be permanently closed by concrete from the right depth, preferably from the solid rock area, by the end of January 2026. There is no need to interpret the direction of the cracking. There is pressurized groundwater in the area. Moving around the area is restricted for nature conservation reasons and especially with heavy equipment must take place during the winter. It is recommended to operate with the lightest possible equipment. Nine sites are located in nature conservation or Natura 2000 areas. GTK discloses the location of the sites for route planning to a contractor selected through competitive tendering. The results of the pipe-by-pipe reporting description with photographs by the end of February 2026. Part 2 of the procurement. The aim is to acquire a sealing service for metal drilling pipes for 27 leaking drilling pipes located in Kouvervaara, Kuusamo. Both the cutting and landscaping service for a total of 63 drilling pipes (including the 27 pipes previously mentioned). The pipes were drilled mainly in the 1980s, but there are also 9 newer drilling pipes with a larger diameter. There is pressurized groundwater in the area. Moving around the area is restricted for nature conservation reasons and especially with heavy equipment must take place during the winter. GTK discloses the location of the sites for route planning to a contractor selected through competitive tendering. Winter 2026: the permanent closure of a total of 27 drilling pipes by concreting the intact section of the bedrock or the interface between the drilling pipe and the bedrock in such a way that the supply of pressurised groundwater is permanently prevented. Four of these drilling pipes are 100 mm in diameter, the other 50 mm. The schedule will be specified when the pipes have been described and the cracking has been cleared (Part 1 of the procurement) During the summer season 2026: removal and landscaping of the above-ground section of a total of 63 drilling pipes in the municipality. The results of the tube-by-pipe reporting with photographs by the end of 2026. The general part of the report should include at least the method of sealing the drilling pipes, the consideration of the natural values of the area and the recycling of materials removed from the terrain.
