Description

For DTU Aqua's new marine research ship, Dana V, DTU wants to buy a scientific multibeam sonar. The transducer shall be placed on the side of the ship drop keel. The multibeam sonar will provide modern 3D measurements of fish and zooplankton, in schools, in the water column away from the ship's sail direction, close to the surface layer and in the blind spots of other echo sounders. The system shall be used for estimates of quantities in schools and layers, primarily in open water. In the ice, the multibeam sonar should be used to study animal behaviour and occurrences under the ice when the ship is stationary.
