Crisis and Failure Management System
Note: Not all information for this procedure were successfully computed. Please consult linked documents for more details.
As a university hospital, the UKF operates a critical infrastructure and is therefore subject to special regulatory obligations arising from the BSI Act and the requirements of KRITIS. As a result, the UKF pays particular attention to securing clinical data and maintaining security of supply. A high level of digitalisation is needed to ensure and promote patient safety in the context of acute care in hospitals. This also includes modern technical equipment. In recent years, investments in the areas of digitalisation and equipment have not been made to the necessary extent by hospitals (e.g. due to the investment backlog). This situation is now to be counteracted with the Hospital Future Act (KHZG) and the associated Hospital Future Fund. In addition, the UKF was compromised by an IT security incident at the end of 2023, further highlighting the need for a redundant crisis and failure management system.
