The Ministry of Defence's Materials and Purchasing Agency has stated that new terminals of the type MIDS JTRS BU3 must be acquired via FMS. The terminals must be acquired in order for Denmark to use Link 16, an encrypted data connection, with this system's latest encryption, cf. the specifications in Crypto Modernization and Frequence Remapping.
