Description

NHS Scotland continues to update its IT systems as part of its eHealth Strategy. To support this programme of work, the Authority, on behalf of an entity constituted pursuant to the National Health Service (Scotland)Act 1978 (NHS Western Isles) is seeking to establish a single-supplier framework of Radiology Information Systems (RIS) patient administration and clinical applications, associated services (implementation, development, support and training), optional software modules and any ancillary items relating to the foregoing core and/or optional items.
NHS Western Isles wishes to purchase a replacement Radiology Information System (RIS). The main hospital in the region is the Western Isles Hospital situated on the Island of Lewis. There is a community hospital on the Island of Benbecula where imaging services are also provided. NHS Borders offers remote support to NHS Western Isles Radiology via National PACS and / or a point to point link. Seamless integration of the RIS with these other locations is of paramount importance and is considered vital to any eventual contract.
As an option hardware may be purchased under this contract though the Contracting Authority reserves the right to use National Contracts to purchase hardware. NHS Western Isles wish to locally host the Radiology Information System with the supplier providing support via remote access however the Framework may consider other hosting options.
Other Health Boards in Scotland will be able to call off from the Framework during its lifetime.
The Framework will be for 4 years with software support provided for a minimum of 7 years.
