Description

History of the object:
The school and sports building was built in 1954 at today’s site. At the end of the 90 years, a pavilion was built in the courtyard for four other classrooms in prefabricated form. In 2005/2006, new lunch catering facilities and accommodation and group rooms were installed on the northern side of the main building.
Use:
Science – technological and linguistic secondary school.
Total number of pupils 2007/2008: approx. 12.30 pupils.
Usable land: School complex (main building, classrooms 1-4, pavilion 5) NGF approx. 11.000 m² (of which classrooms approx. 4 100 m²).
Object description:
The school complex consists of a four-storey main building. To the east there is a 3-sto-storey installation (character) and, to the west, the Turnhalle to the main building.
Construction:
Functional reinforced concrete construction, load-bearing walls, plastered façades.
Ceilings: Reinforced concrete ceilings (class houses, intermediate structures and connecting structures) and reinforced concrete rib ceilings (main building).
Roofs: Wooden roof chair with brick cover, reinforced concrete flat roofs with bitumen seal.
Scope of remediation:
As part of the school rehabilitation programme of the city of Erlangen, a partial renovation of the school complex is planned. The Turnhalle is not part of the remediation measures. The planned renovation measures mainly include the upgrading of fire protection, the refurbishment or replacement of the domestic installations and the renovation of classrooms and corridors and school toilet facilities. The refurbishment must be carried out when school is in progress, and interim solutions to maintain school operation during the renovation phases must be agreed with the users.
Pre-scheduled planning:
On the basis of current information, the following indicative dates are envisaged:
Continuation of planning: 2011.
Start of remedial measures: July 2013.
End of remedial measures: End of 2015.
