Handling textiles - Transport, sorting, refining and final treatment.
The contracting authority hereby invites tenderers to participate in a competition for handling textiles (in the fractions reusable and damaged), i.e. transport, sorting, refining and final treatment. All textiles shall be collected at our reception station at Heggstadmoen 16 in Trondheim.Textiles are defined by the contracting authority, for example, clothes, interior textiles and shoes. The contracting authority would like to avoid using the term textile waste. This term shall only be used for textiles that, after an assessment, can only be burned. For the contracting authority ́s comprehensive definition and categorisation for this competition, see annex 03 Requirement Specification.The contract shall see to the change in the waste regulation § 10a applicable from 1 January 2025 for handling textiles[1]. The textiles from Trondheim shall, beyond the requirements in the waste regulations, strive to: Have sustainable downstream management, which, through the contract period, shall be optimised for lower greenhouse gas emissions.- Be in the top layer of the resource hierarchy.
