Description

The objective of the Call is the procurement of state-of-the-art equipment for the monitoring of atmospheric composition and climate-active pollutants, in the context of the operation of the Antikythera Geosciences and Climate Change Observatory-PANGEA and for the monitoring of air quality and urban resilience in the context of the NOA-AEGIS infrastructure (Subproject 2). It includes instruments for the determination of concentrations of greenhouse gases, chemical composition and physical-optical properties of aerosols and precursor gaseous compounds, for the collection of atmospheric samples for laboratory analysis, and for the monitoring of institutionalised pollutants by standard methods, including differential optical spectral absorption that additionally identifies specialized chemically active gases. It also makes use of air quality monitoring sensor technology, installed in innovative systems, with the aim of implementing integrated smart solutions for informing the public and operators and/or supporting dense recording networks, supporting emission inventory databases and carrying out measurements with portable equipment to assess the individual exposure of the population. Finally, in the context of monitoring environmental pressures, the supply of equipment for recording noise levels is included.
