Description

The Trust as a whole processed approximately 240 000 blood glucose tests from January 2013 to the end of December 2013. Of which 40 000 were used in the community. Objective of the tender:
— To consolidate glucose and ketone meters and strip usage with a single supplier.
— Introduce connectivity across HRI and CRH sites.
— Provide best value for money in relation to blood glucose and ketone point of care testing.
— Quality Assurance.
— Meters must be POCT 1A compliant in order to connect to POCT 1A complaint Software to enable real time special reporting to Specialist Diabetes Team.The meters must be simple, robust and easy to use by non-laboratory staff and must be available 24 hours per day. Connectivity is essential for data capture and the ability to allow access to the instruments by trained staff only.
Brief Summary — The meters should have a minimal risk of blood contamination and cross infection between patients.— The meter must be approved for use by healthcare professionals within a primary and/or secondary care setting.— Any upgrades for the operating system during the life of the contract must be included.— The supplier must assume an increase in workload of 10 % over the lifetime of the contract— The meters must perform to ISO22870:2006.— Preferable one meter for both measuring glucose and ketones, with lock out capabilities.— Meters must have Wi-Fi capability.— Meters must be POCT 1A compliant.— Any connected glucometer system proposed, must be able to connect to the Trusts current procurement of a POC connectivity system.— Must be able to interface with the Trust's future EPR system.— The supplier must have a proven track record in the supply of blood glucose and ketone meters with connectivity in the UK.The Trust expects various costing modules to be submitted including reagent rental, capital purchase, manage service and lease and all aspect of the ITT to be completed.
