Description

Built in the mid-1980s, the triple gymnastics and sports hall on Budrio Allee is a central part of the sports and leisure centre of the municipality of Eichenau. The entire facility of the sports and leisure centre is the result of an urban design competition in the mid-1970s. The hall has received a Bavarian architecture award and is one of the few sports and leisure facilities beyond the town limits that is not used in connection with school use, but is used in addition to gymnastics and sports exercises by several daycare centers, adult education and coronavirus sports groups of sports clubs. The aim of the refurbishment is the energy and fire protection reorientation as well as the creation of accessibility. In addition to its use as a sports venue, it is also intended to be approved as a meeting place for cultural events. The project is to be funded under the federal funding programme ‘Rehabilitation of municipal facilities in the fields of sport, youth and culture’ (SJK 2022).
