Secretariat of the EU Initiative for Coal Regions in Transition
Secretariat of the EU Initiative for Coal Regions in Transition. The action will be implemented via a service contract, covering the following tasks: - organisation of events, both in cooperation with the Just Transition Platform and the Net Zero Europe Platform and independently, for the benefit of stakeholders in EU coal, peat and oil shale regions, fostering the sharing of experience and knowledge on transition-related issues across Europe in particular with a renewed focus on net zero industrialisation and competitiveness, as well as energy citizen empowerment and protection; - technical support and capacity building for EU coal, peat and oil shale regions; - development of knowledge products on issues of direct relevance for coal, peat and oil shale regions (e.g. case studies on good and bad practices, net zero technologies, competitiveness, renewable energy and energy efficiency) - communications and dissemination of results in the EU, sharing the EU experience in supporting coal, peat and oil shale regions internationally. This new service contract will continue develop and implement the tasks, already started in 2022.
