The subject of the contract is the field implementation of the pilot and main study TIMSS 2027 in Poland. The Institute for Educational Research (IBRI) conducts the latest edition of the TMSS 2027 (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) in Poland. The TIMSS study is an international, cyclical program for measuring students' school achievements. The study is carried out every four years (the first edition was carried out in 1995) and is one of the world's largest research projects on educational achievements. The study is organised by the International Association for the Measurement of School Achievement – IEA, based in Amsterdam. Students in the fourth and eighth grades of primary schools take part in the study. The survey also includes school principals, teachers and parents. The study is carried out according to strictly standardized procedures, developed by an international consortium, necessary to ensure the comparability of the results of students from different countries. Implementation of the study in accordance with these standards is a condition for taking into account the results of Polish students in the international final report of the study. The TIMSS 2027 study is carried out as part of the project ‘Preparation and implementation of international educational research in the area of key competences’ financed by the European Funds for Social Development (FERS). The study will be carried out in two phases, a pilot study and a main study. The first stage of the test will be carried out on the sample ok. 36 (-/+2) primary schools from three voivodships: Małopolska, Pomeranian and Silesian; The participation will be OK. 2600 students. The second stage of the study will be conducted on a sample of 156 (-/+6) primary schools from all over Poland, including approx. 146 schools with 4th and 8th grade branches. The estimated sample of students in the study will be approx. 10500 students (estimated and subject to change). The TIMSS 2027 student survey will be carried out on computers provided and prepared by the Contractor, using the Chrome web browser. It will be conducted on the premises of primary schools among students from randomly selected branches of fourth and eighth grades. Student surveys are auditive in nature. Students use computers to complete a math and science test and answer survey questions. The survey of teachers and directors will consist of online replies to the questionnaire. The Contractor's task will be to distribute individual logins and passwords for directors and teachers (mathematics in the 4th and 8th grade, nature in the 4th grade and physics, chemistry, biology and geography in the 8th grade) from randomly selected departments (2-14 teachers in each school), as well as to monitor the progress of filling out surveys. The presence of an interviewer when completing these surveys is not necessary. The survey of parents/legal guardians of the pupils participating in the survey will be carried out using a paper survey and/or an online survey. The Contractor's task will be to distribute individual logins and passwords for the parents of the selected students along with the consent form for participation in the survey, as well as to monitor the progress of completing surveys.
