Description

By decision of the Thuringia Ministry of Infrastructure and Agriculture of 31 July 2015, the ‘Wartburg Region’, consisting of the district of Wartburgkreis and the nine rural districts of the district of Eisenach, was recognised as a LEADER area. The area comprises 132.400 inhabitants, around 1.363 km².
The association ‘Regional Action Group (RAG) LEADER Wartburgregion e.V.’ forms the Regional Action Group (RAG) and is the contracting authority for regional management (LEADER management) for the LEADER region of Wartburg region.
The Wartburg region has drawn up a regional development strategy (RES) which forms the basis for the use of funding. In the context of the 2014-2020 EU funding period, the contract to be awarded consists of the implementation of regional management (LEADER management) in the area of action of the Regional Action Group (RAG) ‘Wartburg Region’. The main task is to manage the implementation of the existing regional development strategy ‘Wartburg Region’ 2014-2 020 in close cooperation with the Regional Action Group ‘Wartburg Region’ in accordance with the LEADER approach of the Free State of Thuringia.
