Description

The object of the procurement is the design and implementation of the Kokkola sports park. The project includes the renovation of the existing buildings of Kokkola Sports Park as well as the construction of new facilities and extensions. The purpose of the project is to meet the construction and renovation needs of Kokkola's events, concerts and sports facilities. The project is to be implemented using an alliance model. The client’s estimate of the costs of the project’s planning and implementation is approximately EUR 45–50 million. The preliminary scope of the project is approximately 30,000 m2.
The project includes:
- two covered training ice trays with inner running tracks
- modernising the ice rink
- Renovation of the protected part of the sports hall with a basketball court and a renovated powerlifting hall
- construction of a new large indoor arena with:
modern, rapidly convertible exhibition, fair, entertainment concert and conference facilities;
facilities for sports services and operators, doctors, physiotherapy and a test laboratory
multifunctional sports facilities with a good setting for indoor sports
high-quality restaurant facilities and services for business events;
press rooms that can be used as a teaching class during the day
facilities, scaffolding and equipment attractive to young people;
- In the first phase, the construction of a football stadium with a covered seating area of 2000 on the side of the indoor arena, so that the changing rooms and other social facilities of the arena will also be available to footballers.
In addition, the content of that acquisition includes, as options, the construction of a fully covered stadium in the second phase of the football stadium.
