Description

Die Stadt Essen plant in der Essener Innenstadt die neue Zentralbibliothek. Die Immobilie Markt 5/6 in 45127 Essen wurde von der Stadt Essen angemietet. Für die Planung der neuen Zentralbibliothek steht eine Fläche von ca. 10.000 qm (davon Untergeschoß ca. 1.000 qm) zur Verfügung. Die Neukonzeption der Zentralbibliothek beruht auf dem Bibliotheksentwicklungskonzept der Stadt Essen, basierend auf der Erkenntnis, dass zeitgemäße Bibliotheken über ihren eigentlichen Auftrag hinaus in zentraler Lage als Motoren der Stadtentwicklung erheblich zur Stärkung der Innenstädte beitragen. Bibliotheken verändern derzeit mit großer Dynamik ihr bisheriges Profil. Neben dem Angebot unterschiedlichster Medien werden Bibliotheken zunehmend zu niederschwelligen Aufenthalts- und Veranstaltungsorten und zu sog. "Dritten Orten". Projektaufgabe ist die Neukonzeptionierung der Zentralbibliothek der Stadt Essen hier: Innenausstattung und Möblierung. Mit diesem europaweiten offenen Vergabeverfahren beabsichtigt die Stadt Essen Bauleitungen für das Magazin zu vergeben.
