The experimental hall (EH) of the GSI is to be comprehensively renovated. The building was built in 1971/72. The experimental hall is constructed as a steel hall on a massive basement floor. It has the dimensions of 57.85m length and 44.00m width. The ridge height is 14.03m and the building is 13.43m high on the eaves. OKFFB basement (level 0) is located at an altitude of -3.50m under OK terrain. Almost all technical supply and disposal facilities are located in the basement, which are to be converted or renewed as part of the present construction project. On the ground floor there are areas, some of which are separated by reinforced concrete blocks for radiation protection reasons.
