Description

As part of the municipal school planning, the municipal representation decided on 20.02.2025 with document No. 159/24 to use the Adolf-Grimme-Ring 1 property promptly and permanently for a structural extension of the Maxim-Gorki-Gesamtschule (MGGS). On the basis of this decision, the School Development Working Group of the MGGS and the Administration (Department of Construction/Housing and School/Culture/Social Affairs) discussed the necessary further steps and the requirements for the extension to be planned were clarified. A building is planned for the so-called "MINT" subjects (teaching subjects mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology) with the designation "MINTimum". The "MINTimum" of the MGGS is to be built on the open space adjacent to the youth centre CARAT, Adolf-Grimme-Ring 1, 14532 Kleinmachnow. The extension is intended to provide modern learning and recreation rooms for the growing number of students while meeting the highest demands on functionality, accessibility and energy efficiency. In particular, it includes specialist rooms for the natural sciences, a cafeteria, administrative and residential rooms for teachers and students, and optionally a cafeteria. For the development of the extension building, due to the school's duty of supervision, it is necessary to guide the way within the school grounds. For this purpose, a path along the eastern boundary of the MGGS sports field is favoured, between the Adolf-Grimme-Ring/West sidewalk and the ball fence. This solution ensures a safe, barrier-free and short connection between the actual school property (with main building and sports halls) and the "MINTimum". A general planner should be appointed to assume all planning and management responsibility for the project. The aim is the timely, economical and high-quality implementation of the school extension in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
