Description

ERZ is responsible for the professional and environmentally sound disposal of municipal waste generated in the city of Zurich, including scrap metal of various qualities. Since ERZ does not carry out the recycling of scrap metal itself, this service is awarded to third parties. The scrap metal collected in the recycling yards is delivered in four lots. The total annual collection volume in 2025 was around 1’104 tonnes and is estimated to be stable, but is not binding. This invitation to tender does not cover the small metal from the recycling collection points of the City of Zurich (beverage and canned cans as well as small metal parts), scrap metal from the collection of bulky goods and scrap metal in dumps that ERZ transports on behalf of other service departments of the City of Zurich. The cooperation will run for a period of two years from 1 January 2027 to 31. It was agreed in December 2028. ERZ reserves a unilateral option to extend the cooperation for another calendar year.
