Germany-Bamberg: Works for complete or part construction and civil engineering work
The former Benediktinerabtei St Michael is located in the west of the city of Bamberg and is part of UNESCO’s World Heritage Site. The construction site, the former Abbeykirche, is located in the middle of the monastery. After the creation of monasteries in 1015, the first church could already be grazed in 1021. Following the destruction caused by an earthquake 1117, a new church building 1121 had already been built. In 1610 the Abbey Church was severely damaged by a fire and large areas of the towers, long houses and sideships had to be rebuilt. A baroque conversion, especially in the indoor environment, took place from 1724.
