Description

The municipality of Carquefou has decided to reconstruct the occupied Louis Armand school group on a projected overall surface area of 3 900 square metres of SHON and 6 400 square metres of outdoor areas. This school group will consist of a nursery and elementary school, school catering and extracurricular care. It will also allow the reception of the leisure centre.
Estimate of the works, including bringing the existing restaurant into line: EUR 5 200 000 EXCL. TAX.
This school group will fit into a wider urban design for the entire Louis Armand island with a total surface area of 1.6 ha.
The school will remain active on the island for the entire duration of the work.
The architectural competition covers:
— a firm tranche: the occupied on-site reconstruction of the Louis Armand school group, the extracurricular reception and the leisure centre, keeping the catering building up to standard. This section includes the demolition of several buildings,
— A conditional, medium or long-term tranche: the construction of a new catering area, including demolition of the current catering building. The new kitchen will be sized to prepare approximately 500 meals. The catering room will be sized to accommodate approximately 350 cutlery.
— A conditional tranche: urban and landscape design of the entire Louis Armand island. It will incorporate the selected urban guidelines: a public footpath through the island, a volumetric sketch of a residential building project.
The environmental priorities will be:
— energy management with a BBC energy performance target, passive design,
— water management,
— quality of materials and air treatment to promote a healthy environment,
— quality of thermal, visual and acoustic comfort,
— public awareness of sustainable development.
