HEalth + LIfe science X-research (HELIX) The University of Heidelberg intends to realize a new research building under the title "HEalth + LIfe science X-research" (HELIX) in accordance with Art. 91b GG (funding phase 2027). The client is the University of Heidelberg (AG), organizationally supported by the University Hospital Heidelberg. The planned facility will be part of an innovation focus of leading research institutions in the Heidelberg/Mannheim area in the field of life sciences, health sciences and medicine and is based on a strategic decision by the state of Baden-Württemberg. On an area of approximately 3,160 m2 (NUF 1-6) and 4-5 storeys, highly installed laboratory areas for medical research (chemical-wet-preparative laboratories, molecular-biological-wet-preparative laboratories, device laboratories and computer laboratories of class S1, S2, S3**) as well as modern office space (e.g. new work concepts) with meeting and communication areas are being built on an urban exposure campus location. In the building, research groups from different research institutions with different focal points are to work together synergistically in close cooperation. For this purpose, an economical building structure is necessary, which allows an interdisciplinary exchange of ideas as a matter of course, effectively and effectively. After construction, the building becomes the property of the state. The University of Heidelberg is responsible for the operation of the building. The area specifications in this project description are completely non-binding and reflect current considerations. They can also change significantly in the course of the project. CardiOMETabolicum at Heidelberg University (COMET) The Heidelberg University Hospital intends to realize a research building under the title "CardiOMETabolicum at Heidelberg University" (COMET) according to Article 91b GG (funding phase 2028). The client is the University Hospital Heidelberg (AG). The plan is to build an experimental cardiometabolic research center to investigate the influence of individuality on heart disease and to develop tailor-made therapeutic principles. On an area of approximately 4,500m2 (NUF1-6) and 4-5 storeys, highly installed laboratory areas for medical research, as well as modern office space (e.g. new work concepts) with meeting and communication areas are being created. The area specifications in this project description are completely non-binding and reflect current considerations. They can also change significantly in the course of the project. Helmholtz Institute for Translational Angio-Cardio-Science, Heidelberg (HI-TAC) The University of Heidelberg intends to build a research building under the title Translational Angio-Cardio-Science, Heidelberg (HI-TAC) in Mannheim, which is not part of the scope of services. However, for programmatic reasons, a part of the usable area (approximately 700 m2 NUF 1-6) within the HELIX building (see above) is to be realized as an independent unit of use. The plan is to build the usable space for Heidelberg University with a use analogous to HELIX. The area specifications in this project description are completely non-binding and reflect current considerations. They can also change significantly in the course of the project. Joint construction project Client for the HELIX project including HI-TAC will be the University of Heidelberg, the University Hospital Heidelberg will be the client for the COMET project. The current plans assume that both projects (COMET and HELIX incl. HI-TAC) will be built on a building plot (Im Neuenheimer Feld, Heidelberg) in a joint building complex. The HELIX, HI-TAC and COMET projects are considered separately from a commercial and organisational point of view. The HELIX projects, including HI-TAC and COMET, should be divisible according to their use once the project has been completed. After construction, the entire building complex becomes the property of the Land. Since the gap between the two funding phases is one year, this must be taken into account from an organisational point of view. The requirements for the implementation periods (for research buildings n.91b GG) form the basis for this. Especially in the initial phase, the respective plans must be closely coordinated with interfaces. Parts of the planning and construction work may also relate to both projects. The two clients have decided to cooperate in the realization of their projects and conclude a corresponding cooperation agreement. The contracting parties act as independent builders and implement their respective projects on their own responsibility and for their own account. The University Hospital supports Heidelberg University with organizational measures for the planning and construction phase. The corresponding powers of attorney are regulated internally. Both projects are to be funded in accordance with Article 91b GG. The HELIX project, including HI-TAC, is implemented independently of the achievement of the funding objective. The implementation of the COMET project depends on the achievement of the funding objective. In the context of the present procurement procedure, the object of a project planning for buildings and interiors is now to be awarded in accordance with the attached procurement documents.
