Sweden-Borlänge: Highways consultancy services
Since 2006, customers in the framework agreement measure travel times on a number of major roads in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö to describe how car accessibility changes over time and to monitor the impact of measures implemented. Travel times and congestion measures are needed for traffic and town planning, as well as for the Transport Administration’s traffic management and the municipal road managers of large cities. Travel times are also part of several traffic information services.
Today, the three major cities use different sources and different methods of calculation. Customers currently have contracts that deliver travel time data via road side equipment. The purpose of this framework contract is to complement existing travel time data with Floating Car Data-FCD, also known as ‘probe data’ to expand the scope of travel time data and to obtain other types of additional traffic data.
