R280 Eriff Masonry Retaining Wall Rehabilitation/Embankment Strengthening Glenade, Co. Leitrim Design Consultancy Services
The project is located in the townland of Erriff 10 km north of Manorhamilton. The road is failing along a steep road embankment. There is 100m of exisitng masonry retaining wall which will need to be rehabilitated or another engineering solution to strengthen the embankment. The presence of longitudinal cracking would indicate that there is a risk that the road may fail and the poor visual condition of the masonry retaining wall (100m) would indicate that it needs to be rehabilitated. The parapet on top of the retaining wall is approximately 600mm this may also need to be increased in height to 1.1m. The pavement along this location will require an assessment given the cracking which has occurred.
